Review: Lush- Granny Takes A Dip

Hello lovelies. Time to let you in on a little secret... I like Lush. Okay, okay so maybe I am absolutely Lush MAD. Not "oh yes I enjoy the odd Lush treats"... I have boxes of the stuff stashed in my bedroom and bathroom and yet I cannot stop myself from investing in more. Guilty pleasure I believe it is called?

Tonight I have tried out one of the latest new bath bombs named 'Granny Takes A Dip'. I was instantly drawn to the psychedelic colours and circles that make up this bath bomb and ordered two during my monthly shop with Lush. I was not disappointed on any level.

As I placed the flat bomb into my bath water it began foaming and fizzing, dispersing the most gorgeous pink colouring.

Next came the blue which blended to make purple. It smelt divine, it reminded me of a mix between the sweets Cola Cubes and Sherbert. Lush describes it as  smelling of ginger, pepper and lemon.

The bomb took around 10 minutes to fully dissolve, which is fantastic, and the swirls of bright colours really lifted my mood.

Once it had fully dissolved the smell did slightly disappear but I wasn't too phased, I find some bombs sickly when the smell is too overpowering for too long. It left my bath water a deep magenta colour and rinsed away easily without leaving stains.

For £3.25 I think Granny Takes A Dip is a fantastic Lush item. I was shocked at the size of the bomb and you could easily cut it in half to gain two baths out of it should you wish!

Hope you've all been enjoying the recent sunshine we've been having!

How to: Bunny Buns

Let's learn how to rock out like Gwen Stefani in the 90s. Bunny buns are still on my hot list of hairstyles, even though I've been kicking about in them for a year or so now. The great thing is they can look as messy as you like. I tend to prefer mine after they've been in a couple of hours.

Step 1: Split your hair down the middle to create a parting into two sections.(preferably with a wonky line to reduce harshness).

Step 2: Use your fingers to comb one side up high into a pony tail, use one hand to hold the hair at that point and the other to wrap the tail around your hand to make the bun.

Step 3: Grab hold of the clump of hair you've spun and tie a THIN elastic hairband around it.

Step 4: Repeat on other side. Don't worry if your buns sag a little, kirby grips can fix this!

Step 5: Use Kirby grips to secure your buns tight to your head.

Step 6: Pull out wisps of hair from the sides and back to make the style look "lived in".

Voila!

Enjoy your bunny buns ladies,

Albus the Malshi Puppy.

It just wouldn't be right not to
include the absolute light of my life on my blog. Meet my 15 week old puppy, Albus Digby Llewellyn Finch (Albie for short).
He's half Maltese, half Shihtzu, making his breed a Malshi. I bought him after a nasty break up and I can honestly say he's the best cure for a broken heart.

When I first bought him he was only as small as my hand!

He's growing up so quickly but his breeder said he won't weigh more than 6lbs when he's fully grown so I will always have a little puppy sized doggy!

It's actually crazy how much I love this little boy!!!!

Enjoy the sunshine all!

MAC Alluring Aquatic Lip Treats!

What girl can't resist a bit of limited edition MAC? Whilst picking up my usual foundation and concealer at the weekend, Siren Song and it's gorgeous lip pencil ally, What Comes Naturally, just happened to jump into my hands and a naughty little voice told me I just HAD to buy them. I do not regret my decision for one second! Ladies, if you like nude champagne shades, you simply have to invest in these. Just look how gorgeous the packaging is too!
Siren Song, £16.50

What Comes Naturally, £13

Just off to go and lay on a rock in the sea, bye!

Milk Maid Braid

This is a hairstyle my clients and followers are always enquiring about and no one believes me when I say it's super easy to do on yourself. Infact its so easy, you could do it in the dark!

Step 1. Split your hair into half as if you were going to do pigtails.

Step 2. Do a regular plait on each side and secure with an elastic.

Step 3. Take one plait and lay it round your head.
Secure with grips.

Step 4. Repeat with other side and tuck each of the plait ends underneath so they're hidden. Add grips throughout so it won't budge.

Step 5. Ruffle up your hair with your palms to make it look more dischevelled and finish with a hairspray. I personally recommend V05's Ultimate Hold hairspray as it smells incredible and protects against our glorious British weather!

Voila!

Enjoy lovelies!

New Look Summer Must Haves!

In terms of Summer clothing collections for 2014, both online and in the shops, New Look are, in my opinion, totally pulling out all of the stops. Their items are flowery, bright, well produced, true-to-size and very reasonably priced (which is why I may have gone a little overboard on my latest buys! So shoot me! A girls gotta look good right?)

Let me share with you a few of my favourite pieces...

The Cream Crepe Oversized Blazer, £24.99:

I have matched the lightweight blazer up with a flowery Boxy print tee (£14.99), bright coral shorts (£14.99) and cute midi heeled strappy sandals (£19.99) ALL from New Look. The blazer is available in 4 other shades and can be found here: http://m.newlook.com/application/product/view?cat=297711413.

Assortment of Floral Boxy Tops £14.99:

These beautiful tops are not shown justice on the New Look website, (especially no2, which is light turquoise with fluorescent pink flowers on). They are all much bolder and brighter in the flesh and are so soft against your skin. You can dress them up with bright coloured shorts or wear them casual with some jeans. I'm besotted with them. Find them here: http://m.newlook.com/application/product/search-department?cat=cat10002&q=floral%20boxy

Tape Knit Vest, £14.99.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous tops currently available in 3 colours (neon orange, neon lime & white). They do snag fairly easily so be careful if you, like me, have stiletto shaped nails! That doesn't put me off though, they have low arm holes, which is just cheeky enough to show a bit of your bra (or side-boob if that's how you wanna roll!) and will prevent any stickiness if we are suddenly caught out by the ever evasive, brilliant British sunshine! Buy them here:

Glittery jelly sandals (£14.99)

I don't know about you but these are a massive flash back to my childhood and are a bargain at only £14.99! I would recommend you go up on size when purchasing, as jellies are notorious for rubbing and giving you nasty blisters. I ordered mine in a size 6 and they're so comfortable! I love teaming the Jellies up with frilly socks and jeans to add a bit of youth to my outfit!  Grab a pair here: http://m.newlook.com/application/product/view?cat=303448890

White Flower Laser Cut Scalloped Tote Bag, £19.99.

This handbag is on my arm constantly! It has a black lining which is great and a popper to seal the bag. It's lightweight and looks great with all outfits. I have a feeling these are going to be very popular this Summer! Purchase one quickly here: http://m.newlook.com/application/product/view?cat=308141710u

Go on ladies, go and treat yourself to some New Look goodies. They're such good value for money, it's rude not to!

Take care,
